It’s been so long since I’ve last updated this blog. Ideas are flowing in like the Niagara Falls but sadly, everything went to waste in this land called “Twitter“.
But this time, this freaking time, I took the liberty to pour whatever I have, in this new post.
I lied. Actually it’s 5:13 am in the morning and I can’t sleep. Updating this entry just to kill time and wait for Subuh.
I’ll tie the knot this June, insyaAllah. It will be a small reception, not as fancy as what others might think. The reason? I took the leap of faith. Yep, you’ve read it right. I took the leap of faith.
The picture above is a classic joke, portraying a failed marriage at it’s best. It reminds me of people’s reaction towards my decision to get married.
It’s funny how people would say things like “Dah ready ke?” and “fikir masak-masak” and stuff like that. There are even those who go as far as “alah belum kahwin boleh lah”. Those who said these words are either older than me, or have gone through the marriage phase, or both. Most of them, however, are women.
Maybe to them, there are no problem with those statements. Maybe to them, they are just ‘sharing their wisdom’. However, there are differences between ‘wisdom sharing’ and ‘demoralizing’.
I usually go to Masjid Jamek’s LRT Station for a charity event under 1Charity. We would cook food and distribute it to the homeless. At first I was sceptical; why should I help them, since they are born without any deficiencies (cukup sifat, bak kata orang Melayu). A friend’s passion actually triggered my curiosity.
“It won’t hurt to do a little charity”, I’ve told myself. Hence, one day, I’ve decided to join in. Continue reading
